The destination has a system for visitor management which is regularly reviewed. Action is taken to monitor and manage the volume and activities of visitors, and to reduce or increase them as necessary at certain times and in certain locations, working to balance the needs of the local economy, community, cultural heritage and environment.
Example: Snæfellsnes, Iceland

Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Regional Park has implemented strategic measures to manage visitor volumes and activities while promoting sustainable tourism. Under the national “Choose or Stay” policy, visitors are encouraged to travel slower, either by selecting a single site for a day trip or extending their stay to explore more. To further disperse tourists, a categorical system labels 28 locations from A to D based on environmental and visitor risk factors, with A indicating fully visitor-ready sites and D reserved for sensitive areas where tourism is discouraged. This approach effectively reduces congestion and promotes balanced visitor distribution.
